WON’T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR? in Theaters June 8th
Mr. Rogers holds a special place in the hearts of those that watched him while they were growing up. The new film, Won’t You Be My Neighbor? takes us along on a journey for an intimate look at America’s favorite neighbor: Mister Fred Rogers. The film paints a portrait of a man who we all think we know, it is an emotional and moving film that takes us beyond the zip-up cardigans and the land of make-believe, and into the heart of a creative genius who inspired generations of children with compassion and limitless imagination.
The film is directed by Morgan Neville (“20 Feet from Stardom”) and looks back on the legacy of Fred Rogers, focusing on his radically kind ideas. While the nation changed around him, Fred Rogers stood firm in his beliefs about the importance of protecting childhood. Neville pays tribute to this legacy with the latest in his series of highly engaging, moving documentary portraits of essential American artists.
