Oakes Farm Corn Maze Review
Today was the first day that Oakes Farm Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch opened up. Oakes Farm is known in the area for their unique corn mazes that are different each year. This is their 16th year in operation and they provide hours of fun for children of all ages (0-99.) This years maze is super fun and celebrates office farm mascot, Doug the Goat!
From Their Site
Our 2016 Maze Design features one of our favorite members of the farm staff, Doug the Goat. Doug showed up at the farm a few years back, with a name tag that said Doug, and quickly became our friend and unofficial mascot. Doug came to us earlier this year, and said that he appreciates all the freedom and beauty he gets to enjoy as a goat on an American farm, and wanted to see what he could do to give back to this great country that he loves. One thing led to another, and Doug has decided to run for president. Two words sum it all up – VOTE GOAT!

We didn’t make it through the whole maze but enjoyed exploring several sections of the maze. It was over 90 degrees so we will be going back in a few weeks when it is cooler to explore the whole maze. It can take several hours to go through the whole maze. It is divided into 3 sections so you do not have to explore the whole thing to enjoy the fun. The 1st part of the maze is perfect for little ones and is the small left portion. You can also check out the 2nd maze which is less than 1 1/2 miles. If you are adventurous check out Maze 3 which is approximately 3 miles.
After our Corn Maze adventure, we headed over to hang out with Doug and his friends in the Animal Corral. We even fed them some treats while we there. There are multiple other attractions to discover including giant slides, bounce pillow, pedal car race track, giant sand play area, and more. General admission includes access to all these attractions. (There are two bonus attractions that are an additional fee.)
Before we left, we made sure to get our picture taken in the large chair located in the Back 40.
Make sure to stop by Twister’s Shakes & Sundae for your free ice cream cone when you show your wristband. Make sure you leave it on until you get there.
