Movie Review: Guardians of the Galaxy
I was eager to see Guardians Of The Galaxy because I am a huge Marvel fan but I was also worried that I might be disappointed that it was all hype. I had mixed feelings going into the screening but I left feeling over the top. Guardians of the Galaxy did not disappoint and actually was better than expected. My husband saw the movie with me and is not a “huge” superhero fan and actually was very impressed with the movie. I was watching it carefully to see if my children would be okay to see it and there are some areas that concern me which I will cover later. Those areas aside we can’t wait to take them to see this movie this weekend since they were jealous they didn’t get to attend the screening with us.
Guardians of the Galaxy, starts with Peter Quill losing his mother and then being abducted. They fast forward to the present time and that is when all the fun begins. Although some of the questions are answered during the movie about where was Peter during all this time, some questions are not answered till the end of the movie. I do not like to spoil movies so I will not reveal too much information. I will however warn you to be prepared to laugh and possibly shed a few tears during this movie. Besides being your typical save the day “Superhero” movie, I liked the message about friendship it portrayed and how everyone needs someone. I may be reaching but the message of acceptance of those that are different was also a positive note.
Now for those with children the movie does contain profanity, mild sexual innuendos, and alcohol consumption. Some of these things will go over their heads if they are young.
In honor of Guardians of the Galaxy release we want to share this Lego Inspired Video by Marvel and Lego fan, YouTube star Forrest Whaley
