INCREDIBLES 2 Movie Review
It took 14 years, but the sequel to The Incredibles is finally here and the reviews are fabulous. Incredibles 2 opened in theaters this weekend and has been slamming the box office every day since. According to Forbes, it is expected to surpass the $262 million domestic cume of The Incredibles by tomorrow (June 21, 2018.)
Our family will be heading off to the theaters this week to take in this highly anticipated film but we sent two of our favorite reviewers to check it out for us. They couldn’t find anything not to like about the film but had tons of things to love. Check out these two fun clips from the film and then see what they had to say about the film.
ABOUT THE MOVIE
In INCREDIBLES 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose super powers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.
Our Reviewer’s Thoughts
- Even though it has been 14 years since the first film and they didn’t re-watch to catch up they liked that the story could still be enjoyed without having seen the first. (Although we personally recommending watching The Incredibles.)
- The fun twist of having Bob (Mr.Incredible) home with the kids while Helen works to bring the supers back provided tons of relateable moments for parents and grand-parents.
- The movie is full of funny moments and action-packed sequences that will keep audiences of all ages entertained.
- Along with the action and comedy, you will find heart-warming moments that remind you of the importance of family.
I do want to share that it has come to attention from reading a blog post from Raising Whasians that there are swear words in the movie that may be inappropriate depending on your family’s feelings. The words/phrases used include “I’ll be damned”, Oh, my God”, What the hell” and “crap.” I know that for some these may not be a big deal but I also understand that for many these words are not ones you want to subject your children to. Now that you know, you can make the decision that is right for your family.
With all these great aspects to the film, we can’t see why anyone would not want to see it. So make sure you check out your local theater for showtimes and enjoy a cool day inside away from the summer heat and get your Superhero fix for summer!
