Gifted Movie Review & Giveaway
Not very often does a movie come along that pulls at my heartstrings without being an overly romantic film. This time, however, Gifted has done just that. In honor of the movie’s release on Friday, April 7th – I have a giveaway for a Gifted movie prize pack.
This wonderful film takes a look at an unconventional family relationship between an uncle and his niece. Matters are complicated when the grandmother tries to come between the two and take custody away from the uncle. The grandmother is set on raising the young girl as the prodigy she is while her uncle wants her to have a normal childhood.
This was a wonderful film tugged at my heart strings and that is what the movie has set out to do. I was surprised at the amount of swearing in the movie but aside from that could not find anything questionable that would stop me from allowing my teen daughter to see the movie.
Movie Synopsis: Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a single man raising a child prodigy – his spirited young niece Mary (Mckenna Grace) – in a coastal town in Florida. Frank’s plans for a normal school life for Mary are foiled when the seven-year-old’s mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank’s formidable mother Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan) whose plans for her granddaughter threaten to separate Frank and Mary. Octavia Spencer plays Roberta, Frank and Mary’s landlady and best friend. Jenny Slate is Mary’s teacher, Bonnie, a young woman whose concern for her student develops into a connection with her uncle as well.
