Disneynature’s Penguins Movie Review
One of my favorite animals are penguins and it is not because my nickname growing up was “Pen-Gwen.” There is something about these flightless birds that makes me want to adopt a million and turn my home into an igloo. They are the first exhibit I look for when visiting a zoo or aquarium and my family knows that we are not leaving until we see them. That is why I can’t wait to watch the newest Disneynature’s Film, Penguins, which opens in theaters on April 17th just in time to celebrate Earth Day.
Disneynature’s all-new feature film Penguins is a coming-of-age story about an Adélie penguin named Steve who joins millions of fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family. None of it comes easily for him, especially considering he’s targeted by everything from killer whales to leopard seals, who unapologetically threaten his happily ever after. The film is directed by Alastair Fothergill and Jeff Wilson. (DISNEYNATURE) This film is rated G.
We sent a team of reviewers and readers to see a screening of the film last week and check out some of their comments after the film:
