Celebrating Family & Memories With COCO & Chatbooks
I am super excited because of months of waiting, I can finally say that COCO is in theaters everywhere. I have enjoyed reading/hearing the reactions from people who have already seen the film but I can’t wait to see COCO for myself. When I attended the Pixar Coco Event in August, I was treated to a rough cut of the first 30 minutes along with amazing sessions where I was able to learn about how they created the film (you can find the links to that information at the bottom of this post) which has left me anxious to see the completed masterpiece.
I think one of the things that has drawn me to COCO is that this movie is all about family and family is something that has been pivotal in my life as long as I can remember. I grew up just miles from my grandparents, aunts/uncles, and cousins, so we had always had large family gatherings at every holiday and throughout the year. These memories still burn bright even as our older family members have passed on. Besides the importance of family, I also discovered over the years how family is not just defined by blood. There were many “family” gatherings that were filled with friends who had become our family. These types of relationships have always been treasured for me because they are the family you choose and not the ones chosen for you.
Over the years, I have been invited into an extended family of bloggers and have developed relationships that are very important to me. This blogger network is there to celebrate my ups and downs with me and no one understands the little victories like someone who is doing what I am doing. During the Pixar Coco Event, I got to meet new friends and see old friends again. We spend so much time behind the screen, it is nice to be able to talk to them face-to-face.
Thanks to Chatbooks, I was able to create a photo album of all my favorite photos so I can look at them whenever I want to remember the amazing experiences and people I got to enjoy them with. It was so simple to create with the Chatbooks App and they have multiple options so you can capture your favorite memories in a single album or multiple albums. Right now you can save 20% at Chatbooks when use the Promo Code: JOLLY (Good through 12/2/2017), so head on over and start crafting your photo book/albun of memories.
I am so excited to see COCO this week in theaters and I can happily say it was given the “Grandmother Seal of Approval” from my mother. She attended an early screening and couldn’t wait to share her thoughts on the film. Not only did she fall for the theme of family, like I did, but she was blown away by the intense colors used in the film. We don’t give spoilers in our reviews because I want you to enjoy the story as it unfolds. However, one of the lessons she pulled from the film was that things are not always what they appear to be. This is true in life and should serve as a reminder to not jump to conclusions but make sure we find out all the facts. COCO is kid friendly and will delight audiences of all ages which makes it a must-see family film this holiday season. Check out the trailer below and make plans to see it with your family and friends.
