In some states school has already started and in others it is quickly approaching for students. My daughter is homeschooled and we will be starting on September 8th. 1. Get Back on Schedule – Start a few weeks before school starts with going to bed at “school” bed time and getting up normal “school” wake up time. 2. Get Organized – Find an organization system that works for your child. Each child is different so make sure to take this into consideration when preparing their school binder and folder options. Remember they are their own individual so allow them some creativity in their organization choices.
3. Get Help When You Need it – Make sure your child knows to reach out to parents, teachers, school staff and mentors when they need help with a problem. The only way they can get better is to learn and no question is a dumb question. This also means that as a parent you need to also Get Help When it is Needed. Homework has changed since you were in school so reach out to the teacher for clarification on work you don’t understand.
