My 100 Pound Weight Loss Adventure

100 pound weight loss 2 Today was a big day for me, I finally hit a weight loss goal that was a long time coming. I can finally celebrate my 100 Pound Weight Loss. It seems like I have been fighting these last stubborn 5 pounds for months. At times I wanted to give up and be happy with my 95 pound weight loss. I had accomplished more than what my initial goal was but I knew that if I gave up on this goal it would be easy to go backwards. I kept pressing on despite some medical problems I was having and was finally rewarded when I stepped on the scale and reached my 100 Pound Weight Loss.

The Beginning of my 100 Pound Weight Loss

I have struggled with my weight all of my teenage and adult life. When I met my husband in 2002, I weight 165 pounds but the weight crept back on over the years and in 2012 I had hit my final breaking point.I had tried everything and my weight always came back. I attended a Bariatric Surgery Seminar and a few weeks later started the 6 month pre-authorization process required by my insurance. This process taught me more about myself instead of me losing weight prior to surgery. I was mentally ready when I had surgery in April 2013. Since that day,I have had my ups and downs. The scale has been my friend and my enemy but I have learned to take responsibility for my actions, eat healthier, and make wiser choices.

Today as I celebrate my 100 Pound Weight Loss, I realize my adventure is not over because the minute I stop I give the weight a chance to come back. So I am off to set my next goal. As long as I am working towards something, I can’t fall backwards into old habits.
