I’m Proud To Be a Wife and Mother
There was one thing I always wanted when I was growing up and that was to be a wife and mother. It didn’t happen right away but by my mid-twenties I met the man who would call me his wife. He did not meet anything on my “list” but he was everything I needed and wanted. It wasn’t love at first sight mainly because I wasn’t looking for love and he thought I was snobby. That changed within 6 hours of meeting each other and from then on the rest is history. It has not been an easy journey but I couldn’t imagine taking this roller coaster ride with anyone else.
A year after we were married, we welcomed a beautiful baby girl into our lives. Today she is is 13 and growing up faster than my mind can handle. Parenthood is not for the weak and it certainly has made me wonder if I am capable some days. However,I would not trade her in for the world and know one day the house will seem a little too quiet as she moves on to her own journey.
These two are the light of my life and without them I am not complete. They both put up with my quirks and even know what to do to put a smile on my face. They like to make me feel good by acting like they need me but I think they could function without me. At least that is what I tell myself every time I get some alone time.
My daughter is my motivation to keep going every day even when my bipolar depression gets the best of me. She has a silly side that she lets loose from time to time. I know that she gets this from me because I can be a little zany. Just ask my family when I am cooking dinner or doing chores. Watching me is not for the faint of heart. 😛
She can also be serious and puts up with my photo taking and doesn’t complain when I plaster her pictures on the blog or social media. Even though I am sure she one day she may start charging.
My daughter has grown into such a beautiful young lady that I love watching her share her love with her cousins whenever she gets a chance.
At the end of the day, no matter how tired or frustrated I get as a wife and mother, I wouldn’t trade these two for anything. They keep me motivated and surround me with love. That is why I can say, I’m proud to be a wife and mother!
Thank you for reading a story from #BehindTheBlogger Hop. Every 2 weeks a group of bloggers is given a writing prompt. These prompts are very open ended, so our bloggers can write about whatever they desire. The main rule is that their blog post directly relates to the topic of that week. The point of this hop is for our readers to get to know us on a personal level.
