Everywhere I go school supplies have started to flood the shelves. I am reminded that in four short weeks it will be time for school to start again. The days are still so hot and long, that the thought of settling into our back to school routine makes me a little sad. I love the lazy days of summer but all good things must come to an end. One of the hardest things about getting back into a school schedule, is finding the time to enjoy a delicious dinner with the family on a limited time schedule. I rely on my slow cooker a lot during the school year because I love meals that I can fix and forget about until it is time to eat dinner. I enjoy cooking from scratch when I have the time but also rely on easy options for the busy days.
My family has fallen in love with this Easy Slow Cooker Italian Chicken with Pasta dish. It is simple to make but packs a punch in the flavor department. I credit the Prego Italian Sauce for the fullness of flavor that it provides in every bite. Slow Cooker Italian Chicken with Pasta
- 1 jar Prego Italian Sauce (We like the roasted Garlic Parmesan but choose any flavor.)
- 1 jar Alfredo Sauce
- 4-5 chicken breasts (approx. 2 pounds)
- 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 16 oz box of pasta
- Place the uncooked chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Top with Alfredo Sauce, Prego Italian Sauce,and shredded mozzarella.
- Cook on Low for 6-8 hours or High for 4 hours.
- When ready to eat,cook pasta according to the directions on the package.
- Serve Chicken on top of pasta with sauce.
I told you this recipe was super simple and if your family is not a huge pasta fan, skip the pasta and eat the chicken on its own. You can easily double the recipe for larger families or if you want leftovers to take for lunch the next day.
